Discover the Vision
He calls his photography: Sky Photography; it represents a photographic journey consisting of capturing images of the daytime sky (skyscapes) and the night sky (nightscapes) in order to convey a series of impressions and thoughts. He believes that the photographic shot is both a cultural stimulus aimed at the scientific study of the sky, and a challenge in photographic technique. He draws inspiration from the canons of classical beauty when composing frames, such as the proportions of the golden ratio, the rule of thirds, and the harmony of lines. He considers it important to craft the image in the most pleasing way possible using the best shooting and post-production techniques, without however altering reality! When composing the image, sensitivity toward safeguarding the starry sky and fighting light pollution must shine through: the dark sky is both the means and the end, and for this reason it must be protected and preserved. In this regard, it is essential to avoid composing images with polluting light beams, torches pointed upward, or streetlights. Capturing the deep sky among light beams is not only not virtuous, but also a lack of respect for Nature itself. I believe that the problem of light pollution is like an illness that needs treatment and prevention: legal regulations and UNI standards are the treatment. The attention of astrophotographers, instead, is part of the prevention.
